Enduring Riches
- Posted by Steven Perron
I was
thinking just now about one of the things that is mentioned in the book “Think
and grow rich”, what I am referring to is the quote “Enduring riches”, now what
exactly does this mean, enduring means lasting, sustainable, continuing, etc,
etc.
Now
most of us might not think about this very much and just concentrate on what it
takes to become wealthy ourselves in our lifetime, but what about our loved
ones, are we thinking about them as well, if you were to die today and you have
attained your dream of having a passive income of an amount that allowed you to
have lived your dream and now you are dead, what happens to your loved ones?
can they sustain your income flow, do they have the financial IQ to maintain
it, or will they loose control and go broke within a very short amount of time,
think of it like this, there are so many stories of people winning or
inheriting a large amount of money, or a business and within a year or so they
are broke.
This
obviously is because they can’t handle the money; they did not get the
financial education you did, this is why I believe it is so important that we
share all the information that we learn with our spouse and guide our children
the same way that the “Rich Dad” in Mr. Kiyosaki’s book did so they can
becoming as financially literate as we are. This of course does not need to be
limited to our mediate family but all of the extended family as well as long as
they have an open mind and are willing to learn.
I know
that the “Money Jar System” is designed to accommodate family money management
and the teaching of this system to children, but I am talking about the “Money
Blueprint” after all if this is not changed within your family as a whole then
after you are not there to guide them then what will happen, so I believe you
must try and change the “Money Blueprint of the family unit, so the riches you
have attained will be enduring for generations.
I
don’t know about all of you but I believe that this is one of the most
important things that we can do for our loved ones.
