Do you know that a Chinese Bamboo?
You take a little seed, plant it, water it, and fertilize it for a whole year, and it will only grow for an inch.
The second year you water it and fertilize it, and it will only grow another inch.
The third year you water it and fertilize it, and it will only grow for another inch. How discouraging this becomes!
The fourth year you water it and fertilize it, and it will only grow another. This is very frustating
The fifth year you continue to water and fertilize the seed and then...take note. Sometime during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree spouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEK.
What happened? Did the Chinese bamboo lie dormant for four years? Or is there any significant happened in the first four years?
What we didn’t see is what happened in the Chinese bamboo in the first four years below the ground.
Was the Chinese bamboo growing underground, developing a root system strong enough to support its potential for outward growth in the fifth year and beyond?
The same principle is true for people. People, who patiently toil towards worthwhile dreams and goals, building strong character while overcoming adversity and challenge, grow the strong internal foundation to handle success, while get-rich- quickers and lottery winners usually are unable to sustain unearned sudden wealth.
Business is much like to the growing process of the Chinese bamboo tree.
It is often discouraging. We seemingly do things right, and nothing happens
But for those who do things right and are not discouraged and are persistent, things will happen.
Finally we begin to receive the rewards.
